Emelie Persson
The girl from Stockholm who always longed for the nature
When nature calls, you follow. Emelie decided to leave Stockholm to be closer to the nature, and ended up in a small village called Tavelsjö, just outside Umeå in the north of Sweden.
Experienced traveller with a love for the nature
Emelie was raised in a family that loved to sail by boat, so she has always been spending time in the nature. After school she decided to travel the world, working during the seasons. Ski-seasons, summer-seasons, and backpacking.
“It introduced me to more varying outdoor activities and when I started to document my travels with my camera the passion for travelling to beautiful places grew,” says Emelie.
Big adventures and simpler daytrips
On the question about what outdoor means to Emelie, she answers:
”For me, outdoor is more than spending time in the nature, it could be a big adventure but it can also be a simpler daytrip where you walk to a nearby camp site for a lunch in the wild. Often the gear makes all the difference to be able to enjoy the experience, being suitable dressed for the weather and wind and that things runs on smoothly. During winter, outdoor can be an adventure outside the lift system to be able to enjoy the untouched nature, stillness and magic that the mountains offer when not being covered with prepared slopes and lifts. Or during the summer when you’re hiking and spend the night in a tent.”
The garments are important for the experience
What decides a perfect day in the nature is closely connected to your choice of garments, according to Emelie. With the right type of outfit any day can be a perfect day in the wild. If she manages to take a nice picture it’s a bonus and most of the times the most striking motive is captured in cloudy weather. The favourite outdoor destination is Lofoten.

Midnight sun in Lofoten
One of Emelie’s strongest travel memory is from Lofoten.
“It was my first night camping with my partner, up on a mountain top in Lofoten. We thought that we would miss the midnight sun as the sky was very cloudy, but suddenly a slice of heaven opened up and it was very stunning and beautiful,” says Emelie.
