Continued sponsorship

Fristads are pleased to announce that we continue to be the proud sponsor of Norwich City’s first team player Alexander Tettey for the 2019/2020 season.

Norwich City signed Alex Tettey from French side Rennes on a two-year deal in August 2012. Born in the Ghanaian capital of Accra, he moved to Norway as a youngster, and spent six seasons at Rosenborg from 2003-09. While at Rosenborg, he made 89 appearances, won the Norwegian title and played 12 games in the Champions League - including a European debut away to Real Madrid. He joined Rennes in August 2012, and totalled 82 appearances over three years prior to completing a switch to Norfolk.

Tettey enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League, chalking up 27 appearances after scoring on his debut against Doncaster in the Carling Cup.The industrious midfielder instantly proved a big hit with supporters and provided a crucial assist in the 1-0 home win over Arsenal when his fierce shot produced a goalkeeping fumble for Grant Holt's winner. An ankle injury meant he missed three months in the middle of the 2013-14 campaign, but he still managed to make 22 appearances and scored one of the finest goals seen at Carrow Road in recent years with a 25-yard volley in the 2-0 win against Sunderland in March. The Norwegian international formed a pivotal part of the City squad which secured promotion back to the Premier League in 2014-15, featuring in 39 games and scoring twice.

Tettey then featured heavily in the following Premier League campaign, playing 23 times before sustaining an ankle ligament injury in March that kept him out for the rest of the season. After recovering from injury, the midfielder signed a new two-year deal with the Club in July 2016.He made a further 37 appearances the following season, taking his overall total to 150.
