Sustainable production

Sustainability is a guiding principle in everything we do and permeate our entire production – from the idea to the finished product.

We want to develop products which not only lasts over time but also have as minimal impact on the environment as possible. Thanks to our long experience of creating workwear we have not had to start from the beginning but could utilize much of our knowledge from all the parts of the production.

One example of our dedicated work is that we have been able to manufacture the materials and garments in our established factories, which know how high we value quality and that everyone who works in our production should have good working conditions. We have also reused all waste from the production, turning it into bonus products.

Social sustainability

We are part of amfori BSCI, The Business Social Compliance Initiative, a European initiative for cooperation that helps companies work with assessing and improving social and environmental standards in the supply chain.

Together we aim to guarantee ethical working conditions for all workers in our supply chain. The amfori BSCI organisation follows the ILO core conventions and the UN Global Compact. Fristads’ own Code of Conduct follows the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct.

The amfori BSCI Code of Conduct is available at the workplace to inform workers of their rights. In addition, there are rules for securing workers’ safety and health. The Code sets the standard for zero tolerance against child labour, bribery, bonded labour and shortcomings in occupational health and safety.

To ensure that we live up to the standards, factory inspections are regularly carried out by accredited third parties. Deviations that occur during a factory inspection must be corrected and followed up by a new inspection.

Our suppliers

For us it is important to create long-term partnerships with our suppliers. By doing that, we believe we can achieve the best quality and a sustainable production.

The garments included in our outdoor collection are made in the same factories as our workwear. This means we have worked with the factories for many years and have established a production that is both efficient and lives up to our high demands on social sustainability and quality.

Traceability

We work with nominated materials, meaning they are traceable down to every thread and fibre. We do this to ensure that our products keep the quality we promise.

Stica

Since 2018 we are one of the actors in STICA, The Swedish Textile Initiative for Climate Action.

The aim with STICA is to support the Swedish fashion and textile industry in their work with minimising their impact by creating a platform for cooperation, knowledge-sharing and common tools. Their vision is that the Swedish fashion and textile industry should lead the way and be climate positive before 2050.
