3-layer principle

At the same time and despite heavy manual work the clothes must transport excess moisture away and you must be able to move freely. Dressing according to the 3-layer principle is a smart and effective way to keep dry and avoid getting cold during your work day.​​​​​​​


LAYER 1: BASE LAYER

Closest to your body you should wear underwear that tranports moisture. Synthetic materials have better moisture wicking properties while wool is warming. Which underwear you should choose depends on your working conditions. Use our underwear guide to find the right one for you.

Layer 2: WORKWEAR SUITABLE AS MID LAYER

The mid layer insulates while letting excess moisture from the base layer pass through.  Choose thickness of the garment based on weather and your working conditions.

LAyer 3: workwear suitable as outer layer

The outer layer protects against rain, wind and snow out, but lets out evaporating moisture. Choose shell garments or lined garments depending on the weather conditions and the task ahead.
